George Edmund Street

George Edmund Street

George Edmund Street is one of the most famous architects in British history, counting the Royal Courts of Justice in London and the nave of Bristol Cathedral as some of his masterpieces.  Not only did he serve as President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, but Street also subscribed to The Index and the Confederate Cotton Loan, the latter being an investment in an ultimate Southern victory.

After his death in 1881, he was buried in Westminster Abbey, one of Britain’s most distinct honours.
